Tips for parents of small children's
Baby Sleep
When you get a baby you begin to understand the value of sleep. Especially a newborn who wakes up every 2-3 hours to eat. But there are some lucky parents whose babies sleep longer and even don’t wake at night.
If you are not one of such parents and want to improve your baby’s sleep, these ideas will be useful for you.
You should establish a routine. What can it be? For example, reading a book, warm bath, lights off, to get new pjs. Try a few variants until you understand what works. Do it regularly and the baby will soon learn that it’s time to sleep and will get used to this routine.
Another important point is a set bedtime. Most parents think that the later the babies are up, the more tired they will be and the better they will sleep. But it is a common misconception. Babies tend to sleep better if they go to sleep earlier. If your baby is extremely tired - get ready, you will have a bad sleep tonight. A normal time for going to bed is from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Keep an eye on your child for a few days and find what time suits your baby.
In order to control the process and see the achieved results create a chart in which you will write when and how your baby went to sleep, the time of the next waking, etc. With the help of this chart you will learn how many times he wakes in the night and count the total amount of sleep.
All babies are different but in general their sleep improves when they are at least 4 months old. The majority continues waking to eat but some of them sleep the whole night through. In any case you can ask your pediatrician for advice.
